Who we are.

Starting work with Deloitte right out of uni, Jac has always loved numbers, spreadsheets and business in general. Combining this love with working alongside such inspiring creative clients makes every day interesting, challenging and enjoyable.

Jac aims to demystify tax, ensure clients are working under the right structures for them today with the flexibility to change for tomorrow, plan for how to keep, and make best use of the money they work so hard to earn, and in the end, provide the level of support and confidence needed to free clients up to do what they do best. Together, Jac and her clients make a great team!

When she’s not crunching numbers, you’ll find Jac pounding the pavement. There’s no better way to start the day than with a run as the sun rises over the Sydney city skyline!

Inspired by her mother’s advice, Kat embarked on a career in accounting immediately after high school, uncertain of her future path. Now, with over 15 years of experience and recently becoming an equal business partner at Cassell & Co, it is clear that her mother’s advice was correct. Kat has become an invaluable member of our team, bringing a wealth of expertise, dedication, and unwavering commitment to our clients. A perfectionist by nature, Kat is passionate about teaching and continuously seeks ways to enhance efficiency, firmly believing that there is always a better way to accomplish tasks. She finds great joy in witnessing the success and achievements of both her clients and her team. Outside of work, Kat adores her mini dachshunds, Frankie and Daisy, who have become beloved fixtures at Cassell & Co. She never misses an opportunity to share their photos, regardless of the conversation topic.

Sarah was always going to be an accountant, planning her accounting career since high school. An extremely organised person, Sarah has a deep appreciating for a good spreadsheet. A passion for solving complex problems, and turning them into simplified tax solutions for her clients is what drives Sarah every day. With over 14 years of experience, Sarah has worked in the entertainment space for the past 8 years.

Originally from Perth, Sarah made the ultimate sacrifice for love and moved to Sydney in 2016. It was totally worth it – Sarah married her love last year…sigh.

Her other great love, Hennessy the Dachshund, keeps her busy outside of work. Experiencing new foods and creating meals is more than a passion, it is therapy for Sarah.

All things tax hold Heather’s interest, but her specialty is finding the best outcome for complex tax issues. She is a Certified Practicing Accountant with a Masters of Taxation from UNSW. Outside of work Heather plays professional Scrabble, adores her children and aspires to write a novel.

With nearly 10 years of experience as a business services accountant, and a CPA, Henna believes in helping her clients reach their full potential by taking the stress out of managing their tax affairs. She strives to build enduring trusting relationships with her clients, by providing the highest levels of customer service.

Outside of work, Henna loves reading, watching movies and cooking (although with two young kids, finding time is always a challenge!)

Leela’s journey into accounting began straight out of high school when she started working in the field. Balancing work with her studies, she graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce in 2021. Currently, Leela is working towards becoming a Chartered Accountant, aiming to graduate in 2025.

Leela has gained valuable experience working for small and specialised accountant firms allowing her to work closely with her clients. She is passionate about empowering small-business owners, and always wants to see them thrive and achieve their goals.

Originally from Newcastle, Leela and her partner made the move to Sydney, seeking new career opportunities and adventures.

Outside of the office, you’ll often find Leela out for a run, practicing Pilates, or doing her favourite form of cardio – shopping!

Gen graduated from UTS with a Master of Professional Accounting and is CPA qualified. With many years of experience, Gen loves being engaged with the varied industry of creatives and tackling different challenges that come his way. It keeps things interesting and helps Gen grow as a professional.When not crunching numbers, Gen can usually be found hanging out with his two cats, Sushi and Snowy, or diving into certain video games.

Lys graduated with a Bachelor of Professional Accounting from Macquarie University and is excited to explore the world of tax accounting.

She is a firm believer of “If you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life.” Her aim is to help clients build their own career and put their full focus on their creative pursuits while she deals with the numbers which may not be fun for everyone, with exception to the Cassell & Co Team, of course!

Besides work, she enjoys reading, Pilates and is extremely passionate about fashion. You can always find her at the nearest shopping mall and if not, the second nearest.

Raby just graduated from Macquarie University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Professional Accounting. Phew!

Raby understands that taxes can be stressful, but he loves to make the process as simple and painless as possible. So hand over your number crunching and you can focus on what you do best.

Outside of work, Raby likes to have friends over for fun times and big laughs. He’s always up for a good time. All that fun has the side effect of long naps. Another favourite past time.

Lauren is currently studying full time for her Bachelor of Commerce majoring in accounting. Lauren enjoys working in small accounting firms and getting to know her clients. She has found her happy place here at Cassell & Co. She enjoys the intellectual challenge and working with numbers.

A gymnast, Lauren competes as an aerial acrobat and loves spending time with her dog Rusty.
